The trail for Mt. Humphreys opened up last weekend and I thought I would finish off my Arizona Six Pack of Peak Summer challenge. The trail was packed with visitors from Phoenix and it was an additional factor to contend with including the high winds, cold temperatures, lack of air, and sharp rocks on top.
The hike was quite pleasant up until the first saddle. From that point on it starts getting serious as it gets harder to breath due to the elevation. Luckily, I bought cans of air from Sportsman Warehouse which helped at some of the more challenging parts. The final approach was intense with wind guests around 80 mph! I couldn't stay on top for long and tried to steady myself for the few pictures I was able to capture.
I am really glad I was able to accomplish. The Arizona Six Pack of Peaks has been a good set of milestones for me. I plan to continue my peak conquering and will next head to Oregon and Colorado!
