The tram gives a nice head start on elevation gain but 11 miles is 11 miles. There's a fairly brutal uphill after the Round Valley camp, made moreso by deep snow; after Wellman's Divide, however, the trail mellows out. Once you reach the rock house be sure to sign your name before clambering up to the peak proper where you can get in line to pose with the freestanding sign and admire the 360 degree view.
