It was another epic day out on Mount Diablo, my third visit in two years. This time I rejoined with fellow Six Pack'r Michael for our second of the Six together, and the 4th for both of us. We completed a nearly 9 hour 18.5 mile 4400′ climb loop starting at Mitchell Canyon, bagging 3 Nifty 90 peaks, including Mount Olympia which was new to me, and picking up several geocaches as well. Weather started cool and misty, then warm, then cold and windy, then sunny and gorgeous. Wildflowers were out everywhere. The loop started at Mitchell, up Mitchell Rock to Eagle Peak, around the Meridian Ridge counterclockwise, up Juniper trail to the top, down to the Devil's Pulpit, up towards North Peak (but stopping short since we'd both been there recently), down to Olympia, then down Donner Canyon back to Mitchell. To save time we jogged about 4 of the 18 miles perhaps, whenever it was flat or downhill, but not too steep or rocky. Lingered here and there for tons of great pictures, and lunch and snacks. Four down, two to go!
