This was our final hike of the Six Pack of Peaks and what an adventure it turned out to be! We were expecting Diamond Peak to be the most difficult hike, however we were pleasantly surprised to find that South Sister was more challenging and prepared us well for hiking Diamond Peak. I hiked with my husband and one of my daughters.

We found the first part of the hike to be extremely pleasant. The trail at the bouldering section was a little hard to find, it was challenging to spot the rock piles, however our daughter did a fairly good job of leading us up the path. We saw 11 other people hiking, including a young boy and 2 dogs! The views from the top were beautiful- this was a very enjoyable hike!

Now for the great adventure- after we finished the hike our car would not start! And we had no cell service! Yikes! There was only one other car at the trailhead and it was a van which had been there all day. We ended up leaving our car and hiking down the road to look for help. After hiking 6 additional miles we ran into a hunter who helped us jump start our car! As it was already dark at this time we were extremely thankful! He was the only person we saw, and driving back we did not see another car until we were almost to Oakridge! What a day and what a memorable finish to the 6 Pack of Peaks!
