My friend and I took a trip to Vermont and hiked both mount Mansfield and mount Camel's Hump on the same day.
Our first hike of the day was mount Mansfield. We started at Underhill State Park, took CCC road to Maple Ridge Trail. Maple Ridge trail is moderate to hard with some good rock scrambles and amazing views. When we reached the Forehead, the first summit of mount Mansfield, we took Long Trail North across the Nose, second summit on Mansfield to the Chin which is the highest point of mount Mansfield. For the biggest part, trail is exposed and offers great views, but it was cloudy and pretty windy on the ridge. We were still able to enjoy some great views. After a short break at the summit we descended down via Sunset Ridge Trail.
After reaching our car we drove towards mount Camel's Hump, which was the second part of our adventure.
Hiked distance: 7.84 miles
Duration: 4h 52min 39sec
Elevation gain: 2880 ft
