Switched things up from my Mission Peak grind and knocked out Mt. Umunhum—peak #2 for the Six-Pack Challenge! Trail was in great shape despite the drizzle, and the overcast skies .
Hiked with a crew of six today, so the pace was more chill than my usual summit missions, but the trade-off was solid company and lots of trail banter. This one felt much easier than Mission Peak, thanks to a gentler incline and the dreamy forest canopy that kept us mostly shaded and out of the rain.
Trail conditions? No issues at all. Wildlife report? Caught a glimpse of a couple of deer just hanging out in the woods. This one was a beautiful contrast to Mission Peak—less grind, more glide. Definitely one to revisit on a clearer day.
