Started right at 5am and had about 10-15 minutes of headlamp hiking, opted to take the Five Oaks Trail instead of the service road and was rewarded with some beautiful sunrise views. Spotted an oriole as well as a deer on the way up. Adventured around the top for a bit taking a look at the different trees and finding the survey marker. Visited the look out points and the old telescope exploratory site on the way back down (took Five Oaks back as well). All in all a great trail, very clean, and finished up right at 8am. The fitness level is light to light-moderate, I personally never went to the “dark place” I associate with the likes of grades 40% or higher.
