Early bird gets….great sunrise pics and no crowds at the summit!

My favorite hike to date. Took Lion Head Trail up and Tuckerman Ravine down.  Watch said 8.4, but I also walked around at the top taking pictures and taking in the sites.  Started just after 6am and it took about 4:30 round-trip with some running and at a picked-up hiking pace.  The summit was calm and free of clouds.  It was early and there were only 10 people on the summit.

The trail is super easy to follow below the tree line, but above, keep you eye out for either blazes or cairns and the rocks that look like they've been scraped by spikes.  No bugs, only a couple squirrels and a few birds.  Berries and lots of wild flowers.

If I did the same route, I might do it in reverse, only because of the wet rocks on the Tuckerman Ravine Trail (I'd rather have the slippery part on the way up than down).  Either way the views are spectacular! I would definitely want to come back to do this again as well as the many of the other trails nearby.  Absolutely beautiful!
