At 6:30 AM it was chilly when we met at the Romona side trailhead, but as expected it quickly warmed up as we started the hike. It was my first Potato Chip rock hike of the year. The winter sun bathed the Romona Glassland in silver simmers. I did not recall how it looked during summer, but definitely not like this.
The Rock was surprisingly sparse with people. We must have beat the weekend rush. After we each got photographed with a triumphant pose on top of it, we headed to the survey marker. What an out-of-the-way location. I would not have guessed the location.
