The trail was easy to follow until the Aspen grove. The trail meanders straight up the east ridge face and we followed what appeared to be the trail at times, others we broke new trail, trying to stay on the AllTrails route.  Listed as a hard hike and lives up to that description, beautiful hike otherwise. Once above the tree line, approximately 10,000’, the trail was easy to follow to the summit. Views from the top worth the effort. It was a shorter distance, but because of the trail condition and steepness, the time to hike was about the same as the 10 mile loop.
