As I drove east from LA through a light rain before sunrise, I wondered if this would be the first time that weather predictions from NOAA would let me down. It was not. Clear sunny skies with highs of 75 at the trailhead and 65 at the peak proved to be pretty accurate. Thank you NOAA.
I do think the rain down below probably deterred people from hiking, as it was not nearly as crowded as I expected the trail to be. All in all, a beautiful hike with amazing views along the way and an incredible view of the extensive cloud cover at the peak.
