After hiking both Cucamonga and Ontario Peaks the day before, I started this trail at the Manker flats trailhead at 7a. I made the mistake of playing sheep and parking at the Manker campground and walking to the trailhead from there, assuming the lot was already full (it wasn't, there were plenty of spaces). Once I got over the fact that I unnecessarily made myself walk that extra chunk, I thought I was hiking the ski hut trail (I now realize I was not on that trail), but I was actually on the Falls Rd, where I hiked up to the notch. From here, I walked up the ski path to Devil's backbone before arriving to the summit…I really need to check my map more often, so that I can actually follow my planned trails rather than just follow what other people are doing. Regardless I made it to the summit and successfully completed 3 peaks in 2 days.
Fun note: I posted a picture of my favorite note in the log at the summit of Ontario Peak, because I think it perfectly captures my feelings about this weekend. These hikes were definitely awesome and I would love to do them again, but I really do not want to do them all so close to together and not soon.
