Trail was well-marked, clean, and difficult. When they say it’s up and down both ways and arguably the hardest hike in San Diego, they are not lying. This was a solid 11 miles of rough and rocky terrain, steep inclines (lots of them), and it ends with a rock scramble. Beautiful views of all of San Diego as it was a clear, but very cool day. Trekking poles are insanely helpful, as are shoes with good tread. I thought it would be a one and done hike for me, but I can totally see myself doing it again ????
