My wife and I completed this hike yesterday. The uphills were not so bad, but the downhills killed my knees. I have had several knee surgeries and I have less cartilage now. This trail really lets you know how bad off your knees are by the time you are done. I iced my knees when we got home, but they are still sore today.
Still, the views were amazing (including the abandoned Jeep around the mile 5 mark). Be ready for the down hills. Hiking poles were a big help on this one. And make sure you bring enough water to carry you up and back.
