I met fellow challenger Amanda this morning as the sun was rising above the mountains. Despite our early start there were many hikers and several larger groups. It stayed cool the majority of the hike up which felt so lovely. The wind picked up at the saddle and there was a nice breeze from there all the way to the summit. As an east coaster I certainly felt the change from the elevation after the saddle but the summit was fully worth it! The early morning coolness and sun location deceived us a bit and the sun exposure on the way down was a little tough. Seems like this hike is a bit longer than the AllTrails report, we logged 12.5 miles.
