What a trail. Up, up, up and more up. There are places you will be climbing. Poles would have been difficult with the amount of climbing required. Hike #2 for us this day, we did Wilson Mountain that morning. Pack plenty of good calories and lots of fluids. Good footwear is a must. Loose rock and shale the majority of the trail. Very little if any shade at all.
Those views though….absolutely spectacular.
