I drove down from LA again to finally complete the San Diego challenge with the most difficult hike of them all: El Cajon Mountain. Having to do four consecutive hikes in a row didn’t help matters, but this was a difficult hike to say the least. I’ve done some challenging hikes but this one definitely lived up to the hype. There was a lot of elevation gain and it was very exposed. I don’t think I’d ever consider this hike outside of the winter months. Anyways, it was a very rewarding hike with incredible views and a perfect way to end the peak challenge and 2024.
