I got to the trailhead parking lot a little before 7am. The weather was clear and the sun was rising; however, the weather was pretty cold. I would say somewhere in the low 40s. I had to where my puffer jacket and gloves to keep warm. The first 2 miles of the hike were easy and relatively flat. The difficult part was the last 1.5 miles of climbing to the summit which included some minor rock scrambling. By the time I got to this part I needed to shed my jacket because I started getting warm. The views along this final climb as well as the summit were pretty amazing as you could see the LA skyline, Mount Wilson, and the snowcapped San Gabriel backcountry. The way down, the wind started to pick up and the weather somehow got a lot colder, despite the sun being up for a while now. The hike ended up being around 3 hours total.
