Finally completed the challenge, just in the nick of time! It was a perfect day for a hike. Reached the peak at 9:30 AM, and had the whole tub to ourselves. Lots of shade, can see downtown LA and the peak, and good exercise for the dog. Highly recommending this challenge to my friends.
