Mt Washington was the last hike of the Challenge and even though it was the month of October the weather was pretty good. When we started out it was 60 and humid with overcast conditions. The over all hike was in cloud cover but we were in shorts and t shirts most of the way up so it wasn't to bad. The rock scrambling was tough as the they were wet from rain the night before, but we were happy that it wasn't icy. We made it to the Lake of the Clouds Hut but sadly we couldn't see to far in front of us to enjoy the view. The same goes for the rest of the hike to the summit. It was nice to finally get to the top and although the huge building takes away from the nature of the hike the hot chocolate and fresh apple cider donut made up for it 🙂 I am happy to say the sun did break through the clouds on our descent which gave us a gorgeous view of the fall foliage below.
