This was my first hike of this year and first hike of this SoCal Six Pack of Peaks Challenge- being Mt Wilson. Myself and a friend (another participant of this challenge starting at the same time as me) are active runners and decided to run this hike to finish faster. We started at the base of this trail at the gate and started running upwards to the top of Mt. Wilson to the Observatory and ran down the mountain after a quick sightseeing break. The uphill 9 mills was rough but there were beautiful views and only minimal leg fatigue luckily. We enjoyed the top of the observatory for about 20 minutes and then ran down the mountain at ~7:30-8 min pace at various spots! Finish time was 3:45, however, we had a warm up mile prior which wasn't part of the actual trail and then i kept my watch going for about 20 minutes or so when we were exploring the observatory, so roughly 3:15 time to complete this trail. Can't wait for the future hikes each weekend!
