I registered earlier this month knowing that my group will be training for Mount Whitney later this year. We decided to hike this peak first. On this hike, I lugged up about 20lbs backpacking backpack.
Due to the fire damage, there were downed trees and debris on the sides but nothing blocking the path. It's nice to see the regrowth of the area after the fire.
My group of 6 hid behind a building to get a break from the winds at the top. It had winds maybe close to 30mph at the top.
It wasn't as tough as I thought it would be. It's not the hardest hike I've done, definitely not the easiest. Views are pretty nice. Overall, I would say this is a great hike, specially of you are training for a bigger hike like Mt Whitney or Half dome.
