This was my second attempt to hike this peak. A week before my 15 year old daughter (who also is signed up to the challenge) and I tried hiking it with the Girls Who Hike SD group but my daughter felt overwhelmed with the elevation and turned back. Yesterday we headed to Wrightwood, CA from Imperial, CA a bit later than what we had planned and arrived to the trailhead at 2pm and the weather was beautiful. This time my 11 year old son also joined us. There were very few people at that time and coming back we were the only ones and we badely made it before dark but we enjoyed the beautiful sunset colors as we descended. Looking forward to hiking the rest!
