Mount Pinos is in the bag! Short and sweet 4 miles round trip for peak 5/6 @ 8,848ft, the highest peak in Ventura County!

It was a perfect day to be back in the mountains with the familia! August was eventful month with two 4 day backpacking trips: 22 miles to summit Mt. Whitney and a 37 mile section of the JMT (Red's Meadow to Tuolumne). My ankles and right knee got pretty beat up after these trips that even short hikes were painful. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to finish the challenge so I'm grateful that 6 more peaks we were added to the original #SixPackofPeaks Challenge. This shorter hike was the perfect opportunity to take our beagle boys adventuring, give them free reign of the trail, and have them bag their first summit!
