Got to the trailhead at 7:30 a.m. and scored parking right on Hwy 1. First sunny day after a week of rain but the trails weren't overly muddy. The segment between Pantoll Campground and the start of Fern Creek Trail allowed for a welcome breather – Fern Creek to the East Peak was a challenge, as was descending on the Matt Davis Trail. Definitely glad I brought my trekking poles. Overall this course was an excellent mix of shady creek/forest setting and breathtaking coastal views from exposed trails. Good variety of wildflowers too if you're into that!
