Had a rental car for a bit, glad I didn't take it up this forest road!  Might have been fine, but definitely my regular mid-size SUV handled the road better than the rental would have.

This hike was a stroll compared to the last week's hike up the Acorn Trail from Wrightwood, up the North Backbone to Baldy.  Easy peasy the whole time, just long!  On my descent, saw a dude not too far from the summit who was pausing, the climb and elevation was a bit much for him, gave him a protein bar and an electrolyte tablet; his friends kept going, and hopefully he waited for them to return and hopefully all is well with them.  The mountain will still be there for when he has trained and acclimated properly!
