This is a great challenge hike with lots of continuous vertical gain. The trail was easy to follow up to the flatiron. I also hiked up the nearby peak which is just over 5000′. After this I had an unexpected change of plans and joined a group to through hike from Flatiron to Freemont Saddle and Peralta. I decided to go for it and commited to completing the 14 mile hike across the ridgeline to Peralta.
