I was a little nervous going into this hike as it was my first time hiking this mountain. We started with a rather large group of people. We immediately broke off from the majority. We had a group of 4 adults, 4 children, and a dog who were going to the basin. Once at the basin, myself and one friend hiked to the top together.
Once we passed the basin, the trail became more fun. It was crowded (as to be expected on a nice Saturday). By the time we made it to the top, there were only a few people there. However, after about 15 minutes, we had the top to ourselves. We enjoyed lunch and pictures then headed over to Peak 5024.
Honestly, the views were better on 5024. After some pictures, we headed down. Overall, this was a fantastic hike.
To top it off, we had thenpleasure of meeting the incredible Flatiron Jim!
