I knew this one would be difficult, but it may have been the toughest hike I've ever done. It required a variety of skills, good tread, and upper body strength. Wear a light pack and make sure your shoes have good tread. It's easy to slip. I did once on the way up trying to hoist myself up a boulder in a crevice. I also slipped on the way down. Shaky knees! Still have bruises on my shoulder and hip. Climbing up and down the chute is like ice, and other parts of the trail are littered with gravelly rocks. Go early and take water. It was a 6-hour hike for us. Slow and steady. We started at 7:30am and ended at 1:30pm. Was grateful for my power bar at the top. The views are amazing. The climb is a challenge you won't soon forget.
