The day after hiking Mt. Bachelor we were originally planned to hike South Sister but the weather prevented us. The forecast was calling for low clouds and high winds at the summit. We opted for Maiden Peak. The hike starts in the forest for the first few miles, then the views expands once you get above the trees. The summit is very rocky and windy. It was raining when we started and the day stayed foggy, no views from the top, sadly. This was an all day hike, 12 miles RT. There were only 2 other people on the trail that day.
