This is a beautiful hike. The weather was crisp and sunny. Neither myself or my hiking partner had hiked this trail before. After making a wrong turn at the 1.5 mile intersection (which added 4 miles to our distance), we were on our way.
It felt as if we had the whole mountain to ourselves ( only saw a few other hikers). The Pine Trees were an added delight! The wind howled through the needles. As we headed up the trail we scaled boulders and really admired the beauty of the hillsides. It really felt like an adventure as we sometimes didn’t know if we were on the right path. Thanks to little clues (stacks of rocks) and noted landmarks (Kissing Boulders) we were confident to keep going. Once reaching the top of the peak, I was happy to see the sign & summit register. I enjoyed the views of the other peaks in the distance.
As we descended downwards, I was already looking forward to revisiting this backcountry hike.
