Started just after sunrise, but there just isn’t enough daylight right now to make the summit without night hiking. Sadly, I did all of mine on the way out. Started at 0630, hit the summit at 1400, made it out sometime shortly before 1900, well after dark. :/ Took longer than expected, mostly due to heavy snow cover obscuring the trail. Plus, advancing in the snow is slower going. Was able to make the summit with only micro spikes, but at 8k elevation, snow starts to get deeper and slushy. Post-holing should be expected, so be careful with your knees. Had to switch to snow shoes on the way down for this reason. Also watch your head, especially on warmer days after snow. Trees were dropping giant balls of ice on top of my head all day. These are huge, heavy, and fall from some seriously high trees.
