First time doing this hike…I plugged the location mentioned on The Hiking Guy website for Baden Powell into Waze but Waze led us astray resulting in a visit to the Fenner Canyon Conservation Camp – aka minimum security prison – but once we finally made it to the hike it was great.   I noticed another car had the same issue and she was also using Waze, so be forewarned.

I hiked with two friends and we didn't start til 9am which was later than hoped but fortunately it wasn't too hot so it was fine.  The hike itself was pleasantly gradual with a nice view at the top where we chilled / ate for a good hour.  I ran most of the way down and took a small detour to Lamel spring which was literally a pipe coming from under a rock with a little stream of water coming. Would not recommend that detour, but otherwise a great hike!
