Hiked this one with my sweetie. A bit of a climb to get there and then you feel like you're on the moon with those rocks. It's always satisfying to me to find the survey markers and this one at the center of the rocks. This is an extremely popular park on weekends. There is a lot of parking, but it fills up fast, so arriving early is your best bet. Next year, I think I will try a different route to the top of Black Mountain, but this year we were just happy to finish the hike since last year one of our friends tripped and had to be taken to the emergency room with a broken bone. She is healed, but prefers to stay lower down the mountain now.
