Strawberry Peak never disappoints. Well, at least we werent bombarded by the insect kingdom this time! We started the hike pretty early and we were delighted by the rising sun. It was a semi-cloudy day, but the mix of the clouds and sun was amazing. I hiked with my friends from the Happy Hikers SCV, led by Shana. Of course, we had a theme to bring strawberry infused recipes/food/drinks-and of course we brought it all.

I really dont like the “fake” peaks along the way, even though this is my second trip here! It was ok, and the weather at least was in our favor. Once we got to the peak, we indulged in fresh strawberries, strawberry infused guacamole, strawberry infused spritzers and the like. We know how to party!

A friend of mine told me to look in the register box when I got to the peak, he had summited a couple days before. I looked-and found a picture of my recently deceased dog, Lola. It brought me to tears. I am ever reminded that those that depart this Earth, whether human or animal, are always with us.
