Gorgeous Fall day with Fall colors, sections of moist snow about 4 inches deep. Much of the trail is lined with a variety of tress; oaks, cedars. The smell of the forest on the crisp air was great. Challenging up hill on this fire road trail, but smooth trail (other than some mud patches with the wet snow). Quiet.
At the saddle at the top, walk opposite the lookout tower to take the hidden trail to the summit, where if you walk around to the back of the large boulder there's a ladder to help you climb to the very top of the summit boulder where there's a 360 degree view and the summit register.
