The trail had signs yet lacked appropriate directional arrows to assist in navigating the loop. I got to the “Canyon View Trail” sign, all it really said was: Islay Creek Road (2.2 mi) and Resevoir Flats Trail (2.2 mi). This didnt help me one bit what so ever. I didnt know which way to turn so i just continued on and veered left. I eventually reache another sign which had bells that bikers could pick up and read “Last Boundary Trail 1.3 miles”. However, if you turn around and look up, there is a small trail which leads upward to a circular area of which is the summit of Hazard Peak. Prior to finding that I continued down about three knolls. At which, since I'd gone a considerable distance downward, almost ready to reach the road if I'd continued much longer. I made a little video on how upset I was that there was very poor signage indicating an actual loop. I hiked back up to the sign of which I just described and ran into a jogger. She told me she had seen me and said if I had continued along where I was I would have been on the loop. But there wasnt arrows or any signs indicating I was hiking along the correct path to tell me I was actually in the right direction. I was very upset that I had wasted all that time to find out I was on the right path all along. To add to it all, as I continued down along the knolls, the trail became more and more less maintained to determine what was trail and what was not. All together I ran into 4 bikers, 2 hikers and a jogger. If this doesnt count, I will make an effort to come back and try it again, maybe jog the trail, its only 12 miles.
