This was an awesome day for some solitude. I got to the Vivian Creek trailhead and started hiking at 6am. I had my headlamp on briefly but quickly put it away 30 min into the hike as the sun started to rise. The weather was nice and cool, as I was able to keep my jacket on for the whole 18 mile trek. By far the worst parts in term of exertion was the climb at mile 1 after crossing Mill Creek and mile 8 on the final climb to the summit. But overall, the trail was a good grade to deal with. The trail is awesome and covered with pine trees, allowing for protection from the sun, besides the final climb to the summit. Most of the backpackers campgrounds along the way had streams that were flowing with water. Towards the top, small patches of snow started to cover the trail, but nothing difficult to navigate. I summited at 10 am and had the whole peak to myself. I only saw 5 other people this whole trip, and it was awesome to just spend some alone time in nature. I got back to my truck at Vivian Creek at 2pm and rushed off the grab food from that long day hike. This was a great experience and a great way to culminate the socal six pack of peaks.
