This is a fairly long hike (10+ miles), but if you do it on a clear day you can see all the way to Catalina Island. For the middle part you have the choice between the main trail and Bear Ridge, so you can turn it into somewhat of a loop hike and see different parts of the area (the beginning and end parts are still just a single trail, i.e. out and back).
The one thing I didn't like about this hike is that crossing Highway 74 is pretty sketchy. The highway is extremely popular with motorcyclists, and a good amount of them are going way over the speed limit, and the visibility is not exactly great on this curvy road. So be very careful when crossing!
