Bear Mt. is a bear of a hike! 800 feet of elevation per mile so you are either hitting the gas or the brakes. Every footstep is deliberate so don't space out. It is a sunny hike so pick a cooler day if possible, we had 77 degrees. The hike is demanding (you sweat) but also very rewarding. Beautiful rock formations and vistas. Hiked with my 30 year old son who is also doing the Six Peak Challenge. As we finished the hike and came through the meadow we were treated to Western Tanager's . Our moving time was a healthy 4 hours with 40 minute rest at the top. Give yourself plenty of daylight for this hike. It is gorgeous! Have fun!
