Fun hike! Convinced all my kids and extended kids (ages 18-30) to accompany me on the hike. Loved that, it’s rare for them to all have the same day/time off.
They were slightly more motivated because they thought we were going to be scoping out some Hot Springs.
Started a bit later then normal. Started heading up the mountain around 11:00 but it was a beautiful crisp day. There some small patches of snow still lingering around. The first mile or so has a pretty decent incline. We were huffing and puffing rather quickly but the moment the incline evened out a bit, it was smooth trekking. The huge pine trees and cones were lovely. We saw lots of blue birds as we walked along, dodging some downed trees along the way.
Once we made it to the summit we took some fun pictures, explored the area, ate a snack and then started our way back down.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the hike.
