This was one for the books – we started at the wrong trailhead (oops!), but the extra 2 miles we went were the prettiest part of the hike. We crossed streams on the way up, and fields of wildflowers. A thunderstorm rolled in as we got close to the top, and we quickly took pictures to get back below the tree line before the lightning, thunder, and HAIL started. It poured the whole way down, and there was water above our ankles most of the way. The streams we crossed earlier were quickly becoming rivers, so we had to hurry before more water came down. It was the quickest we got down on any of our hikes!

Even with the crazy weather, it was still one of my favorites! Watch the video to see how cool it was!
