I originally was expecting for this to be a normal hike, but they actually were doing a hiking challenge for Memorial Day. I'm glad I came on this day because not only did I get some pins, patches for completing the hiking challenge, but I also got water and snacks along the way, which was definitely needed.
This definitely lives up to the challenge of it being the hardest hike in San Diego county. The first 3 miles in weren't that bad, but the last two and half had some steep hills and I had to keep taking breaks. For the last mile and a half, you need to maneuver around rocks before reaching the summit. At the summit, you'll get a nice view. I completed this in about 5 hours and it's 11 miles out and back. Don't underestimate the last two miles to the top though and be sure to bring water and take necessary breaks along the way. Otherwise, it can be done in about one morning.
