This was the worst hike I've ever done frfr. That incline “The Shortcut” was absolutely brutal. When we got to the top I was so disappointed, there wasn't even a sign to take a photo with. No actual peak, just a bench and a random shack. But that wasn't the worst part, far from it. We went down, missed Jackass Peak, went back to climb Jackass Peak, just to find it's just a litle hill with no actual sign. Then we go down. And then we go up. And up. And up. And up. How the hell does a hike go up both ways? I was absolutely demoralized and was praying for the hike to be over by the 14 mi mark, but still had more painful climbing to go. Terrible. I almost passed out afterwards due to lack of salt, that's on me I guess.
We saw a tarantula, that was cool I guess.
