Coming out San Diego, I thought it was going to be overcast and misty (as it was driving out from the coastal area of San Diego).

Surprisingly, there are rangers and patrols . . .even at 7:45am on a Thursday morning. I stopped and met the Los Coyotes rangers in 2 different spots. . .

First few miles were as trip reports…mostly on a dirt road…still there were already nice views and solitude…

Within a half mile, I put on my wide brimmed hat and bug headnet…(I have been hiking regularly with a bug net for a few years…already better to have one than not!)

As I approached the ‘summit' (It is really a concrete pad with the markers). I was pleasantly surprised to find a ladder and pull ropes to help you go up…

The views are incredible and even better because I was the only hiker all day!

Super happy as this hike completes my 2022 SD six pack of peaks…
