The beautiful fall colors of the aspens laced with gold had many spectators coming to the base of Humphrey’s Peak. My last hike of the challenge was both strenuous and exhilarating as I pushed myself to accomplishment. Having hike Elden the previous day I had to overcome my tired mental state. I had read about Humphrey’s promise of false summits but the description did not live up to the experience of feeling like I was almost there and then tuning the corner and realizing I must traverse more rocky terrain to achieve my goal. However, the ethereal moment that I experienced when teaching the Summit depicted a scenario that was truly heaven sent. Thanks to my husband that joined me on this journey to 12,000 feet+
