I hit the trail around 9:30 in the morning. It was pretty packed with people, since it was a holiday and all. But I didn't mind, I felt safe hiking by myself as a woman. The first mile was a bit of a scorcher. There was hardly any shade and I was sweating buckets. I drank a lot of water on the way up, because the trail was mostly uphill with some flat spots here and there. The good thing was that there was a cool breeze coming from the bay.

I made it to the top in an hour and a half. The view was amazing. I took some pictures and had a snack. Then I headed back down, which took me an hour.

Overall, excited to start this challenge. 1 down, 5 to go. And, bonus, also prepping for a fall trip to Half Dome.
