Not a lot of people on trail that day due to high temperatures at 97 degrees difficult terrain with steep inclines and mostly exposed open areas but we were up for the challenge. There were many great views of the Bay Area. It was super hot but even though the breezes were warm it kept us cooler and every breeze was welcomed. Even with the precaution of hydrating days before and during the hike my quads and calves cramped up just before and on top of the summit. But with a little rest, a shade tree and a refreshing Hibiscus Ginger Honey Lemonade my awesome hiking partner made, my recovery was quick and lessened through out the remaining of the hike. At the end of our hike the cool flowing stream near the visitor's center made a great spot for some makeshift cryotherapy.
