Holy Moly!!!
-1st the hike was tough, the first 2 miles really kicked my butt. (I wanted to quit right from the beginning), once we hit the fire road, we started to feel a bit more comfortable. But then miles 5 and 6 were tough and the last half mile to the summit was tough.
-2nd the views are absolutely amazing. Being above the clouds was a dream and made the climb worth it.
when planning on doing this hike make sure you doing the following; Check the weather (we got extremely lucky, the way up it was overcast and cloudy but it definitely warmed up as the day progressed), bring plenty of water/snacks (bring a backpack with water and some BCAAs and/or electrolytes), take your time (make sure to keep a good steady pace on the way up and down- my the end I was exhausted and pain) and watch out for off-roaders (be vigilant and listen for people driving off road to the top, move completely out of the way for your and their safety.
