Overall the trail is in good condition and easy to navigate. It was a cool and brisk day for this hike. Most of the trail is exposed, and the even with the cooler temperatures the first two miles were tough and I was sweating into my puffer jacket.
At around 1.75 miles the single track trail joins a wider access road and around 2.5 miles the road is open to off-road type vehicles. Be mindful of your surroundings and listen/watch for vehicles and motorcycles.
The rest of the trek to the summit is only as fun as your companion(s) and ability to converse. While there is still elevation to gain, it is easier to chat while you aren’t fighting to breathe.
This hike is definitely a butt kicker!!
